Our High School Practice Program focuses on:
Building competitive race teams
Enhancing individual and team racing skills
Participating in regional regattas
Participation in regattas is considered part of High School Practice.
There will be no Sunday practices when the team is actively participating in a regatta.
DYSA is proud to support our student sailors in achieving their Bright Futures Scholarship goals!
Students can earn volunteer service hours by assisting with sailing events, helping coach younger sailors, maintaining equipment, and supporting regattas.
We are happy to help guide you through the process of tracking and documenting your volunteer hours for school credit.
Eligibility: Students must be in 8th grade or higher, or 13 years old by December 31, 2025.
8th graders are welcome to practice with the high school team but cannot officially compete in ISSA events until 9th grade per ISSA rules ("All competitors must be full-time students, in 9th grade or higher, at the school they represent.").
Payment Terms:
At least 50% of the registration fee is due before the first class.
Students who have not paid at least 50% will not be considered registered and cannot participate in practice until payment is made.
